The app monitoring feature of Hoverwatch software keeps a record of every application that is opened on the target computer. For each app, the software logs the name of the program, the time it was launched and how long it remained active.
All collected information is available online in your Control Panel and can be viewed from any device with an Internet connection. You do not need physical access to the monitored computer to review the reports.
This feature is enabled by default. No additional configuration is required after installation — the software begins tracking application usage automatically.
Why is this feature useful?
For Employers
Understanding how company computers are used during working hours is essential for maintaining productivity. With app monitoring, you can see whether employees are spending time in work-related applications or being distracted by games, messengers and other non-business software. This information helps you make informed decisions about resource allocation and workplace policies without resorting to micromanagement.
For Parents
Children often spend hours on the computer, and it can be difficult to know exactly what they are doing. App monitoring allows you to see which programs your child uses most frequently — whether it is educational software, games or applications that may not be appropriate for their age. This gives you the information you need to guide their computer habits constructively.
What information is recorded?
For every application opened on the monitored computer, Hoverwatch saves the following details:
- Application name and process information
- Date and time when the application was launched
- Duration of active usage
- Frequency of use over time
Combined with other Hoverwatch features such as keystroke logging and screenshot capture, app monitoring provides a comprehensive view of how the computer is being used throughout the day.
